LAKSA @ LAO JIANG

This was a surprise find when I was looking for a place for lunch and craving for laksa. Lok Lok Eating House is a kopitiam located at Blk 18 Jalan Membina (oppsite Tiong Bahru Plaza). The stall Lao Jiang 老江 sells both laksa and bah chor mee (minced pork noodles).

The laksa was served in a porcelein bowl, with the chilli and laksa leaves on the spoon. The laksa consisted of gravy, yellow noodles, sliced fishcakes, sliced tau pok (deep-fried beancurd) and hum (cockles). When mixed with the chilli and laksa leaves, the gravy was so yummy - spicy, rich and aromatic. It was not too salty and oily. The yellow noodles were well-cooked, not too soggy. The fishcakes, tau pok and hum were fresh and tasty.
